“I don’t think they’re opposed to it,” an unnamed executive told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand. “They’ve spoken with teams about it. The requests were outrageous, but I believe they will try to retool a lot, and employing those folks to collect components may be one method to do it.”
In a proposed trade, the Dodgers would send their second-best prospect for Bichette.
The Dodgers don’t absolutely need a shortstop. Mookie Betts has done well in his full-time role this season. However, the Dodgers may benefit from an upgrade at second base. “So, it turns out Mookie Betts is a pretty good shortstop,” Rymer said. “His 3.8 rWAR is the highest of any shortstop, and it’s not solely due to his.966 OPS. He’s also among the best defenders.

Rymer proposed trading Dodgers’ No. 2 prospect Josue De Paula to Toronto for Bichette and right-hander Yimi GarcĂa.
“A one-for-one exchange of Bichette and De Paula does not exactly work, so it’s a good thing the Dodgers also require a reliever. But if the Blue Jays desire near-term upside, De Paula isn’t the guy,” Rymer wrote. “He’s only 19 and hasn’t exactly been dominating Single-A ball.”
