Legon Cities FC, a team in the Ghana Premier League, has expressed its sorrow at the loss of former striker Hans Kwofie.
The Ghanaian forward tragically lost his life in a car crash on Friday afternoon in the Western Region of Ghana, close to Tarkwa, near Dadwen.
According to first accounts from the site, the incident included a car that belonged to Samuel Nzemaba, a former defender for Ghanaian football giants Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
Legon Cities FC expressed their sympathies to Hans Kwofie’s family, friends, and loved ones via a social media post.
The club also prayed for the attacker to rest in peace.
“During the 2021–2022 GPL season, Hans Kwofie, a former player for Legon Cities, proudly wore our jersey. We are deeply saddened by his passing.
“His loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers. In a post on X, Legon Cities FC stated, “𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑰𝒏 𝑷𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆, 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒔.”
